About Kaye Lillian

Kaye Lillian is a Columbus-based mixed media fine artist. She is currently in her senior year studying for her BFA of Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art & Design. Lillian will earn her BFA in the fall of 2023. Lillian studied painting mostly in her earlier years of college, and towards adulthood her style developed to be centered around the different textures of paints, pastels, Styrofoam, and soft sculpture. The combination and contrasting qualities of these varying materials help Lillian flesh out her personal struggle with disability and mental sickness.

Lillian's work takes as its focal point the development and perception of various psychotic disorders and how they affect all aspects of life. The subject matter of Lillian's work is typically abstracted portrait and figure work, often collecting inspiration from surrealist work. Lillian has collaborated often with various galleries in Columbus, including Goodlife Studios, having two solo show openings in their Clintonville space and participated in a community market for local artists. She also works for Mack Lawrence Studio as a conceptual artist and designer for video projects for various musicians and corporations such as Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uzi Vert, and Nigo. Lillian has continued to develop and maintain a unique style as she approaches graduation, so make sure to follow along at @kayelillianart on Instagram
